Wismar

The next town on my list of places to explore was Wismar, an old Hansestadt on the coast of the Baltic sea, and now on the Unesco World Heritage register. It's a bit over two hours by train from Hamburg. It was my first visit to the ex-GDR.

The street in front of the Schabbelmuseum lined with film trucks and equipment.

The TV-series Soko Wismar is being filmed here.

Delicious baked Hokkaido-pumpkin and salad at Avocados.

The old "Loewenapotheke," now a vegetarian cafe that seems to be the only place in town that serves soymilk. Which is why I went there twice, for an afternoon vanilla-soylatte and my morning americano. With vanillasoy. It's a great place to hang out and sit in the sun.

Luebsche Strasse.

The Wasserturm around the corner from where I stayed.

At the market square, with 10.000 square meters one of the largest in Germany.

At the Baltic Sea.

I had a nice long chat with this local lady.
